Meet Ken
Ken is a proud lifelong resident of Marion. He and his wife, Janet, have been married for 58 years and raised their two daughters in the community they love. Today, they are proud grandparents to five grandchildren, with one great-grandchild on the way.
Ken graduated from Ridgedale High School and later attended The Ohio State University. A Vietnam veteran, he went on to build a long career at Whirlpool, retiring after 40 years. In addition to his work at Whirlpool, Ken farmed and raised hogs for four decades. He is a member of Dayspring Wesleyan Church.
Ken has spent much of his life giving back to the Marion community. He has served on the Marion County Fair Board for 20 years and continues to serve as chairman of the Marion County Junior Fair Livestock Sale Committee. He has also dedicated 41 years as a Junior Fair Board advisor and 20 years on the Marion County Farm Bureau Board. He has given back to the Marion community through his 13 years in the Rotary Club, including three on the Rotary Club Board and Rotary Club Foundation Board. Ken is a past president of the River Valley School Board and served nine years as a member.
Ken previously served 12 years as a Marion County Commissioner, where his strong commitment to fiscal responsibility helped guide the county through recovery from the Great Recession.
